Theological Musings

This section of my site contains a few musings on various bits of theology. It's basically a home-made in-a-nutshell guide to the great debates that have caused huge controversy and splits within the body of Christ, or issues that I think tend to be overlooked by Christians. I don't pretend to have more wisdom or knowledge than others who have written on these topics. I also don't pretend to be offering an entirely objective view. I doubt that anybody except God has their theology completely right, so I may well be wrong in the conclusions I draw in these articles. However, I do hope that what I write will help serve as a good introduction to the issues.

A complete list of the topics I've covered so far can be found in the sidebar and below is a more fleshed-out list giviing a brief overview of each topic.

  • Predestination and Free Will: The classic Calvinism vs Arminianism debate - including the much quoted "Once Saved; Always Saved?" debate
  • The End Times: Jesus will return, but what are the details? Includes a very brief look at the book of Revelation.
  • Political Action: What (if any) type of political involvement is biblical?
  • The Environment: Probably the 21st Century's biggest issue - what should Christians believe and do?

Disclaimer

Please don't take anything I say on these issues as the definitive answer - the conclusions are my own, and may not reflect the balance of what the Bible says about an issue. The length and style of the articles is such that they do not address issues in great depth. I'm not a professional theologian, but I do have the Holy Spirit, and a god-given ability to think through issues. Treat these pages as an introduction. To form your own opinions go study the Bible, pray about it, and - if you think it will be genuinely helpful - read other books or webpages addressing the issue from different perspectives.
